Transfer padlets
Updated 17 hours ago by Rana WildsAll personal (individual) plans, Teams, Classrooms and Padlet for Schools plans are located within the same Padlet space.
Think of it like this: If you have an individual plan and a Team plan associated with the same email address, both plans will live in the same house -- under the same roof.
To keep things separate, these two plans have their own "rooms". Your individual plan has their own "room" and your Team has a different "room." We call these rooms, "workspaces."
One email address = One account
One account can contain multiple workspaces
Padlets made in your individual workspace cannot be seen by your Team and visa versa.
But what if you want your Team to see them? What if you had inadvertently created your padlets in your individual workspace but wanted them in your Team workspace all along? You can transfer your padlets right from your own dashboard!
Where can I transfer my padlets?
Currently, account owners have the ability to transfer padlets from:
- Their personal workspace -> Team/Classroom/Padlet for Schools workspace (tied to the same email).
- Their Team/Classroom/Padlet for Schools workspace -> personal workspace (tied to the same email).
- Their Team/Classroom/Padlet for Schools workspace -> another Team/Classroom workspace (tied to the same email).
Transfer a single padlet
This option is perfect if you only need to transfer one or two padlets!
Follow these steps to transfer a padlet one at a time:
- Go to your dashboard and click on the account menu (in the upper-left corner)
- Select the workspace that the padlet was created in
- Click on your Made by me folder on the left
- Locate the padlet you wish to transfer and click the vertical three-dot ellipsis button (...) on the padlet thumbnail
- Select Transfer padlet
- Select the workspace to transfer it to
Transfer multiple padlets
To transfer multiple padlets at once, follow the steps below:
- Go to your dashboard and click on your account menu (in the upper-left corner)
- Select the workspace that the padlets were created in
- Click on your Made by me folder on the left
- Hold down the mouse button and drag to select multiple padlets
- Click Transfer padlets (at the top)
- Select the workspace to transfer them to
FAQs
I can't transfer any of my padlets! The transfer padlet option is not there. Why not?
1. Individual/personal accounts: You must be the creator of the padlet.
2. Team accounts: You must have a role on the Team that allows you to create padlets in order to have padlets transferred into your account there. In other words -- if you are the Owner or have the Admin or Maker role assigned to you, padlets can be transferred to your Team account. If you have the Contributor role, padlets cannot be transferred to your Team account.
3. The padlet quota in the destination account must not be met yet. If the account is over quota, the padlets cannot be transferred.
