Log in and out of Padlet

Native accounts (Neon/Gold/Platinum/Team/Classroom)

Logging in and out of your Padlet account can be a bit different depending on if you are using a web browser or our Padlet app. Below are step-by-step instructions of how to do this for both instances.

Web browsers

If you are accessing Padlet on a web browser, you can log in and out of your account with the steps below:

How to log in
  1. Visit Padlet.com to login to a native account. If you are logging in to your Backpack account - see those steps a little further down the page.
  2. Select Log in.
  3. Enter your username/email and password or with the third-party organization of your choice.
How to log out
  1. Click the three-dot ellipsis button (...) on the bottom-left corner of the screen.
  2. In the window click Log out.

Mobile App

Before you can log in to our app, you (of course) have to download it to your device! To download and install the app, click the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and follow the instructions at the link.

Alternatively, in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, search for Padlet, select the app, and follow the installation steps.

The Padlet app works on both iOS 11.0 or later, and Android 7 and up.

How to log in

Once you have your Padlet app downloaded onto your device, follow these steps:

  1. Open your Padlet app.
  2. Click Sign up or Log In.
  3. Enter your credentials or click Log in with Google, Microsoft, or Apple

Tenant accounts (Briefcase and Backpack)

Logging in and out of your Backpack/Briefcase account is a bit different than a native account. Below are step-by-step instructions of how to do this using both a web browser and our mobile app.

Web browsers

  1. To log in to your account, go to your school or organization's unique domain. This domain will look something like this: yourschoolhere.padlet.org.
Do not go to padlet.com to log in to your Backpack/Briefcase account. You will receive an error message indicating your password is incorrect or that you cannot log in to your account. Padlet.com and your unique URL are two separate domains and can get a bit confusing at times. 😉
  1. Enter your username/email and password or with the third-party organization of your choice.
  2. Click Log In.

To log out of your account, click the three-dot ellipsis button (...) at the bottom-left corner of your dashboard and click Log out.

Mobile app

  1. Open the Padlet app on your mobile device.
  2. Click Log in.
  3. Select Continue to stay logged in to the account displayed (if it is your Backpack/Briefcase account) or select Switch accounts to log in to a separate account (if your Backpack/Briefcase account is not displayed).
  4. On the next page, where all login options are displayed, click on the Log in here link at the bottom.
  1. Enter your subdomain in the domain field.
  1. Enter your username/email and password or with the third-party organization of your choice.
  2. Click Log In.
Contact us for assistance if you need help accessing your school's account.

To log out of your Backpack/Briefcase account, tap the three-dot ellipsis button (...) More on the bottom-right corner of your screen. Next, tap the Log out button in the top-right corner.

Why can't I log in to my Backpack account?
Make sure you are logging in on your Backpack domain that ends in padlet.org and not on padlet.com.
Why does it say "User not found" - personal accounts
The email that you're using is not in our registry. Ensure that the email you're using is correct.
Why does it say "User not found" - Backpack accounts
Ensure that you are on your backpack domain (ending in .padlet.org) and not padlet.com. If you are on the right domain, please check with your account administrator to verify your login details.
What if I can't remember my password?
If all attempts fail, request a new password at http://padlet.com/auth/forgot
Why does Padlet say "Incorrect Password" or "Bad Password?"
An incorrect password was entered. If you cannot remember your password, request a new one here: http://padlet.com/auth/forgot. If problems persist, contact our friendly member services team.
Is it possible to have multiple accounts under the same email?
Yes. However, they have to be on different domains. You can have a personal account at padlet.com and a Backpack account at padlet.org with the same email. If you try to register multiple accounts on the same domain with identical emails you will receive an error that says, "Email is taken."
