How is user login different once an LMS has been connected via LTI?

Login is not any different than using Google/Microsoft SSO to log into Padlet.

There are a few possible scenarios:

  1. You have an existing Padlet for Schools account and an account on your LMS.

By simply clicking on log in using Google/Microsoft (depending on your email provider), we will match the email addresses based on what is already in the school account. You will be logged into the Padlet account with the same email address.

If the Google/Microsoft email address you use to log in on Padlet is different from the email address you use on your LMS, a new Padlet account will be created.
  1. You do not have an existing Padlet for Schools account but have an account on your LMS.

When you interact (view, comment, post, etc) with a padlet on an LMS, we will automatically provision a corresponding account on Padlet for you using the email address you use on the LMS with the corresponding LMS role.

You can then head to your organisation's Padlet for Schools website (ending in padlet.org), and simply clicking on log in using Google/Microsoft (depending on your email provider), we will match the email addresses based on what is already in the Padlet for Schools account. You will be logged into the Padlet account with the same email address.
