Create anonymous posts

Anonymous attribution is finally here!

There are many situations where you may want to collect information from users in an anonymous format. Collecting feedback about a performance, job reviews, creating a safe space for students to submit questions they would normally not ask, etc.

Now you can!

Post as a guest

To ensure your posts will be anonymous, open an incognito window and go to the padlet's link. When the padlet loads, you will see a bar pop up on the screen showing you are 'Contributing as guest' with a pre-selected fictitious name.

Anything added to the padlet (posts, comments, reactions) will be attributed to this guest name.

Change your name

To change your guest name, click the avatar in the top-right corner of your screen. Click Change name and enter your preferred alias.

If you prefer to not be anonymous, you can click Sign up or Log in to associate your name and account with your contributions.

Once you're finished, click Done!

All new posts will be attributed to your new name. Posts that have already been created with the previous name will remain the same - the name will not change to the new alias.

FAQs

Why can't I add my own alias? It won't let me.
The name you're selecting may already be in use on the padlet. You will need to come up with a different name that no one has picked yet. In some occasions, you will be able to pick the same name but you will be given your own unique avatar to distinguish between the two users. While you're still anonymous, you will know 'Happy Hippo' with a green avatar is not the same user as 'Happy Hippo' with the pink avatar.
I want to delete my post but the option is not there. Why?
Once you close the incognito browser tab, if you open the link again, the computer will no longer recognize you as the author of the posts. This means you cannot delete or edit them. You will need to reach out to the owner to delete or edit the post for you -- or -- since it's supposed to be anonymous anyway, just create a new one under a different alias!
