Game Insights in Arcade

The leaderboard tells you who won. Insights tells you what your class actually learned. Every eligible Arcade game you create has an Insights panel that turns player results into a report: what content worked, which students need a check-in, and what to play next.

Opening the Insights panel

  1. Open a game you created.
  2. Click the Insights button in the header.

Your game needs at least one play before there is anything to analyze. Once it has plays, Arcade starts writing the report as soon as you open the panel, and the top of the panel shows when it was last updated. Switch between the Score and Players tabs to move between the class picture and individual results.

After more students play, click the refresh icon at the top right of the panel to update the report.

Insights is available for template-based games, except Memory Tiles. Wildcard games don't have insights yet, but they're coming soon.

The Score tab

The Score tab shows how your content performed. A gauge at the top shows the class average, and below it a Summary sums up how the class did. Cards then call out what players handled well and which questions tripped them up, with suggested next steps to improve scores. It's built for spotting patterns, like a question the whole class missed or a topic that needs another pass in class.

The Players tab

The Players tab is a quick breakdown of individual performance: a player count on the gauge and a score list showing how each player did, so you can see which students are on track and which could use a check-in. Instead of scanning the leaderboard row by row before a lesson, you can glance at the Players tab and know who to sit with first.

A suggested next game

At the bottom of the Score tab, the Follow-up game section suggests a next game aimed at what your class found hardest. If half the class missed the questions about fractions, the suggestion targets fractions, so you're not guessing what to reinforce next.

Good to know

  • First attempts only: The report is based on each player's first attempt at the game. Choosing which attempts to use will be available in the future.
  • Editing resets insights: Changing questions or answers starts insights over, because plays on earlier versions of the game no longer count. Cosmetic changes, like updating the title or instructions, don't affect insights.
  • Newer games only: Insights can only be generated for games created after June 15, 2026.
  • Only you see it: Insights are visible only to you, the game's creator.

FAQs

Why don't I see the Insights button on my game?
Insights appears only on games you created. It isn't available for Wildcard games or Memory Tiles games, for games created before June 15, 2026, or when you're viewing a game embedded on another site. If your game hasn't been played yet, the panel will let you know it's waiting for the first play.
Is this the same as the leaderboard?
No. The leaderboard ranks players by score and speed. Insights goes deeper: question-level results, per-player performance, and suggestions for what to do next. If you need every player's raw answers in a spreadsheet, download the leaderboard as a CSV.
Can my students see the Insights report?
No. The Insights button only appears on games you created, so players and anyone else with the link won't see your report. They still see their own score after playing, and the leaderboard if you've left it visible to all players.
Why did my insights disappear after I edited the game?
Editing questions or answers resets insights, because plays on the earlier version of the game no longer match the new questions. Once students play the updated game, you can generate a new report.
