Padlet Slideshow
Updated 19 hours ago by Rana WildsSlideshow turns your padlet into a presentation you can actually run slide by slide, live, with your audience in sync. Here's everything you need to know about how it works!
What is Slideshow?
Slideshow mode lets you present the posts on your padlet as individual slides. Each post becomes its own slide, and you can move through them in order - whether you're teaching a class, running a team meeting, or walking someone through a project.

How to start a slideshow
- Open your padlet
- Click Slideshow at the top

The padlet will open in full-screen slideshow mode. Use the navigation bar at the bottom to move between slides.
Navigating slides
The navigation bar at the bottom of the screen gives you everything you need:
- Arrow buttons --> Move to the previous or next slide.
- Slide strip --> Shows thumbnail previews of all slides. Hover over a thumbnail to see a preview. Click any slide to jump directly to it.
- Autoplay / Loop --> Automatically advances slides after a set interval. This play button can be found in the action bar alongside Visit and Spotlight me. Toggle toggle the button ON next to 'Loop slides.'

- Visit --> See all viewers of your slideshow and visit the slides they are viewing.
- QR code --> Generates a QR code that links directly to the current slide, so others can scan to follow along.
Exporting a slideshow
Export your slideshow as a PDF, save each individual slide, or print it out! This is useful for sharing with people who weren't there or for saving a record of the presentation.
- While in Slideshow mode, click the Share button
- Select one of the available options

Slideshow Spotlight
Spotlight is a live presentation mode that syncs all viewers to the presenter's current slide in real time. When a presenter activates Spotlight, everyone watching follows along automatically. No need for viewers to click through on their own!

How Spotlight works for viewers
When a presenter activates Spotlight, viewers see a banner at the top of the screen showing the presenter's name and avatar. Viewers are kept in sync with the presenter's current slide throughout the session. They cannot navigate on their own while Spotlight is active.
Starting and stopping Spotlight
Spotlight is available to Admins only. To start Spotlight:
- In slideshow mode, click the Spotlight Me button in the action bar at the bottom of the screen.
- A confirmation prompt will appear. Confirm to go live.
- All current viewers will be synced to your slide immediately.
To stop spotlighting, click Stop spotlight. Spotlight will automatically end after 1 hour of presenter inactivity. So, if you step away or close the tab, the session won't stay active indefinitely.
Handing off Spotlight to another presenter
If you need to pass the presentation to another admin mid-session, you can transfer Spotlight:
- Click the transfer option in the Spotlight controls.
- Select the Admin you'd like to hand off to
- They'll receive a prompt to accept. They have 15 seconds to accept before the request times out.
While a transfer request is pending, the Spotlight button shows the requester's name in a tooltip so you know who's asking to take over.
Comment panel sync
When you pin or unpin the comment panel during a Spotlight session, that change is shared with all viewers in real time. So, if you pin comments to discuss a slide, everyone's comment panel opens automatically.
Tips
- QR codes for specific slides - When in Slideshow mode, click the Share button at the bottom to display a QR code linked to that specific slide. This helps when you need to direct your audience to a particular post.
- Spotlight auto-stops - If you forget to end a session, Spotlight will automatically turn off after 1 hour of inactivity.
- Only Admins can start or receive Spotlight - Viewers and editors can't activate it or accept a transfer.
