Whether that be because you&#39;re a student and no longer attending, you&#39;re a teacher but you&#39;re retiring, you&#39;re switching schools - or whatever the reason! What do you do now? What will happen to your padlets? Where do you go from here?\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Ch3>Padlet for Schools accounts \u003Cem>(at padlet.com)\u003C\u002Fem>\u003C\u002Fh3>\u003Ch4>Owners and Admins\u003C\u002Fh4>\u003Cp>Admins within accounts located at padlet.com can give permission to students and\u002For teachers to transfer their padlets to an outside account. Have you ever heard the phrase, \u003Cem>&#39;What happens here, stays here?&#39;\u003C\u002Fem> It&#39;s kind of like that!\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Unless\u003C\u002Fstrong>...you get the Owner of the Padlet for Schools&#39; account to give permission to transfer your padlets out of the account. Please write in from this email address so we can prove you are who you say you are. :)\u003C\u002Fli>\u003Cli>The URLs of the padlets you would like transferred. \u003Cem>(If you would like\u003C\u002Fem> \u003Cem>\u003Cstrong>\u003Cem>all\u003C\u002Fem>\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003C\u002Fem> \u003Cem>of your padlets transferred, the URLs are not necessary).\u003C\u002Fem>\u003C\u002Fli>\u003Cli>The email address associated with the account you&#39;d like your padlets transferred to. If you do not currently have an individual account associated with this email address, you will need to make one at padlet.com before the transfer can take place.\u003C\u002Fli>\u003C\u002Ful>\u003Ch5>Email\u003C\u002Fh5>\u003Cp>If your school has \u003Cem>not\u003C\u002Fem> given blanket approval \u003Cem>- or you&#39;re just not sure if they have or not -\u003C\u002Fem> you can reach out to the Owner of your Padlet for Schools account to request permission. To make things easier for everyone, we recommend \u003Ca href=\"mailto:hello@padlet.com\" target=\"_blank\">contacting Customer Support\u003C\u002Fa> from the email address associated with your school account, cc&#39;ing the Owner onto the email and requesting the transfer.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cdiv class=\"note-callout\">If you do not know who the Owner of the Padlet for Schools account is - reach out to us and we can help!\u003C\u002Fdiv>\u003Ch4>Copy or Transfer?\u003C\u002Fh4>\u003Cp>Copying and transferring your padlets are two different things - please make sure to decide how you want to move your padlets before you start the process.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Ch5>Copying padlets\u003C\u002Fh5>\u003Cp>Requesting a copy of your padlets will ensure you have an exact replica of your padlet in both your school account and your individual account. Any changes made to these padlets \u003Cem>after\u003C\u002Fem> having them copied will only be retained on the padlet the edits were made on. At that point, they will act as separate padlets.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Ch5>Transferring padlets\u003C\u002Fh5>\u003Cp>Requesting that your padlets are transferred will remove them from the school account completely and relocate them to your desired account.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cdiv class=\"tip-callout\">The URL of a \u003Cu>\u003Cstrong>transferred\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003C\u002Fu> padlet will automatically redirect users to the new location.\u003Cbr\u002F>\u003Cbr\u002F>A \u003Cu>\u003Cstrong>copied\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003C\u002Fu> padlet will receive a \u003Cem>new\u003C\u002Fem> link. The previous URL will no longer work. If you wish to have your padlets copied and it&#39;s been embedded elsewhere - you will need to embed them again with the new link.\u003C\u002Fdiv>\u003Cdiv class=\"note-callout\">We cannot copy or transfer padlets out of your school account that were made by another user, shared with you or in your \u003Ca href=\"\u002Fl\u002Fen\u002Farticle\u002Fbces4t4zdx-how-do-i-save-someone-s-padlet-on-my-dashboard\" target=\"_blank\">Bookmarks\u003C\u002Fa>. This can only be done with padlets you&#39;ve personally made yourself.\u003C\u002Fdiv>\u003Ch3>Lose email access?\u003C\u002Fh3>\u003Cp>Your email address will most likely be deactivated when you leave your school. To keep access to your padlets, please contact the Owner of your Padlet for Schools account \u003Cem>(taking the steps above)\u003C\u002Fem> to ask if your padlets can be transferred out. We are happy to help with this process!\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cdiv class=\"tip-callout\">Getting in contact with the Owner of the account can be a lengthy process. We recommend allowing plenty of time to get this taken care of prior to leaving your school.\u003C\u002Fdiv>\u003Cdiv class=\"warning-callout\">The Owner of your Padlet for Schools account can delete or deactivate your profile at any time once you leave the school. Once your account is deleted, your information and padlet contents can only be recovered within 14 days.
