Google Classroom add-on
Padlet's Google Classroom add-on allows users to attach interactive padlets to any type of classwork! Attach the add-on to an assignment to allow students to collaborate on a shared padlet or it can be submitted as their assignment!
Who has access?
To access Padlet's Google Classroom add-on, you must have a Padlet for Schools account (at padlet.com) and own a Google Workspace for Education license.
How to set it up (admins only)
The setup process must be done by the Owner (or someone with Admin permissions) of the school account. Follow the steps below to get started:
- Set up Google Classroom add-ons (following the instructions here)
- Add the Padlet add-on for use by your teachers. This should appear under 'Add-ons.'

- To attach a padlet, click on Padlet in the 'Add-ons' section
You may be prompted to log in using your Google account. If this happens, just follow the prompts on the screen to log in.
Connecting your Padlet for Schools account (admins only)
There are two ways to connect your school account to the Google Classroom add-on:
- Linking the account
Log into your Padlet account and click on your account name/avatar in the upper-right corner of your dashboard >> Settings >> School info >> under the 'Google Classroom' section, next to 'Link account,' click Connect.
Once your account is connected, close the add-on and open it again.
- Using a deployment token
Generate a deployment token by logging into your Padlet account and clicking on your account name/avatar in the upper-right corner of your dashboard >> Settings >> School info >> under the 'Google Classroom' section, next to 'Google Classroom deployment token,' click Generate.

Then, copy and paste the deployment token into the box and click Link all courses to library.
The Padlet add-on should now be connected to the course (and all other courses you have access to).
Using the Padlet Add-on (for teachers)
- When creating your assignment, select a padlet from the pop-up menu or make a new one with the Make a padlet button.

- Choose to either allow students to edit the padlet directly or have the padlet in view-only mode.
By default, the padlet's 'Visitor permissions' will be set to Commenter. To allow students to edit the padlet directly, click on the attachment, click the Share arrow button (in the top-right corner) and adjust the settings as needed.

- Once the classwork is posted, students can view their assignment within Google Classroom! It should look something like this:

Assignment submissions
After students have submitted their assignments, you can access their work. Your view will show contributions from each student individually for ease of grading.
