Sandbox special effects
Keeping students engaged can be tough! Combat this by adding a little flair to your Sandbox with special effects!

Using special effects
Add special effects (such as visual or sound effects) to an object in your Sandbox!
- Using the Select tool, click on the object you'd like to connect to a special effect
- Select the fx button

You can also right-click on the object and choose Add special effects.
- Choose between Sounds or Visuals (or use both) and choose your desired effects

- Click Save
To see your special effects in action, use the Interact tool to click on the object or open the Sandbox in Presentation view by clicking Slideshow at the top of the page.
When an object with a special effect is clicked, it will only play for the user who clicked the object.
Removing special effects
Using the Select tool, click on the object and select the fx button. Click Remove > Save.

Disable special effects for your Sandbox
If you do not want special effects to be an option within the Sandbox, you can disable it within your Settings menu.
Click the Settings cog icon (⚙️) at the top of your Sandbox > under Content, select Allowed tools > toggle the button OFF next to 'Sound and visual effects' > Save.

Toggling this button OFF will not affect already existing special effects in your Sandbox. It will only prevent new effects from being added.
If you are the Owner or Admin for a Classroom or Padlet for Schools account, you can change the default settings for a Sandbox.
